iPhone 6 - spotify doesnt work on wifi

For the past couple months I noticed that the latest version of Spotify and the latest version if iOS don't work over wifi. It just says "Connecting" and that's it. I can't listen to spotify on my phone unless I'm on the mobile network. 

Uninstalling and reinstalling Spotify didn't work. When I reinstalled Spotify over the wifi network. I couldn't even sign in over wifi. I had to be on the mobile network.

Is anyone else having this issue? I noticed other phones like the Samsung Tab and Galaxy also having this issue.
