iPhone Overseas error

iPhone Overseas error

I have a premium account and use the service across several devices however I can't log in to Spotify on my iPhone. Every time I try I get a message saying Spotify is only valid overseas for 14 days. The account is australian and the phone is australian so I don't understand the issue. I've tried deleting the app and restarting but to no avail. Ideas?

Hey @calvin16373, welcome to the Spotify Community!

 

Is there a chance you are using a VPN on your phone? That would miscommunicate your location with Spotify and cause it to think you are abroad.

If you aren't sure, go to https://www.maxmind.com/en/locate-my-ip-address on your phone and tell me what it says your location is.

 

Hopefully this problem shouldn't be too hard to fix 🙂

Okay, could you tell me where your Spotify account says you are located?

Does this mean we can't use Spotify when we are abroad?

What about holidays?

Yeah, you cannot use Spotify Free abroad for more than 14 days, but Spotify Premium can be used abroad unrestricted. For more information, check out this link: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/account_settings/travel-with-spotify/
