iPhone app plays first song in playlist rather than selected song

 When I select a song to play with in a playlist the first song in the playlist plays rather than a song I selected. This occurs only on my iPhone.  To put it another way, when I select, let’s say, the fifth song in a playlist, the first song in the playlist is what plays.
