wifi sync on iphone doesn't work anymore

Solved!

wifi sync on iphone doesn't work anymore

Spotify doesn't want to sync my playlist via wifi anymore.

I tried everything: Turning offline mode on and off, re-starting the app, removing the app and re-install. Nothing works.

As soon as I enable 'sync via 3g' the playlists start syncing, but not over wifi. This has worked fine until recently. And it also still works perfectly fine on the ipad, using the same wifi network.

Occasionally a message pops up saying: 'you use offline playlists on more than 3 devices'

This is not true. I use offline playlists only on iphone and ipad. So that shouldn't be the problem.

I had some troubles with the wifi connection on the iphone after upgrade to the latest ios 7. But this also works fine again now.

I'm very unhappy. Using spotify on my phone is the main reason why i have spotify premium. If that doesns't work, i might as well drop it.

Help please!

Are you definitely logged into the same account on your iphone as on your PC? Try this:

  • Exit spotify on your PC
  • Close spotify on your phone by double-tapping the home button then hold the spotify button and hit the x when the icons start shaking
  • Press the Home button until you return to the home screen
  • Launch spotify on your PC and wait until it has completed loading
  • Launch spotify on your mobile and watch the devices section in the desktop client

The three device message is a bit strange. If you go here, how many offline devices are listed?

only two. my ipad 2 and my iphone 4s

Hi, just to eliminate any network issues, can you try temporarily disabling any firewalls, security and antivirus apps on your PC. Please also check that UPnP is turned on in your router settings. Then restart your iphone and try to synch again.

done. no change 😞

Hey there! 🙂

Try resetting network settings in Settings > General > Reset, then, hold your lock button and home button for 10 seconds until your iPhone reboots. Once it has rebooted check your Spotify app.

And of course, make sure your Spotify and iOS are up to date.

Hi Merik,

I've already tried that. Didn't help either. I also lost all my already synced playlists (the one that were availale offline) by resetting.

😞

Your playlists shouldn't have been affected. Can you just check that you are logged into the same account on your iphone and desktop client?

Can you also confirm that you have admin rights over the router and that you aren't behind a proxy or using a VPN?

Yes, it is the same account. I'm admin of the router. It's a homenetwork, no vpn. I tried resetting the phone several times in different ways and the playlist where gone everytime.
Basicially nothing has changed whatsoever from the time when it worked just fine. Suddenly it stopped working.

hey, that seemed to do the trick! or at least a part of it. In addition to your suggestion i logged out of the wifi connection on both mac and iphone and connected to another one. Afterwards i reconnected to the original wifi connection i usually use.

Awesome - enjoy your music 🙂
