My Question or Issue

Visiting my father and he was setting up a new phone, wanted to get him started on Spotify and set up an account. When trying to create a new one it says it exists, when trying to reset password it says "the username or email you provided is not associated with an active Spotify account". We're in a loop where we can't do anything. What can we do to help him out.
