Adding existing non-premium account as a family member?

Solved!

Adding existing non-premium account as a family member?

My wife currently has a non-premium account. If I upgrade my premium account to a family +1, can we use that to turn her existing account into a premium one? Or would the plus one be an entirely new username/account? She doesn't want to start a brand new account and lose her playlists (or make them shared/public to continue using them), and would rather stay non-premium if that's how it works.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I can't seem to find the answer clearly stated anywhere.

Hey @rhorsman ,

sure you can just add her 🙂 The only thing to remember is that only free users can be added and since your wife isn't on a subscription, I can see no problems to invite her!

You need to set up a new subscription using the family subscription page. Don't worry, your old subscription will be merged with the new one so any remaining premium time on your account will be converted to free days before your first bill on your new family plan.

I have a premium account and I want to add my daughter who has a free subscription.  But the place to upgrade makes it looks like I am adding an entire new Premium account, at $14.99/month, rather than just adding one person for an additional $5/month.  When I already have Upgraded to premium, how do I add one person to my existing account?   Thanks.

I have been trying to add my daughter on to the Premium for the Family subscription I just got. I would also like to add to other devices. When I shared it with my daughter though, it wouldn't work. Please help!

I have the same issue but when i accept the invitation and fill the information fields, a premium account with no email is created. i cant connect to fb, create a password or even edit the email field. its like a ghost account and it keeps happening in other emails. help!! what do???

My daughter has a non-subscription account. I want to add her to my family plan. We seem to be having a hard time. I hae sent numerous emails... can you give us step by step instructions. I think we are missing something. The other kids seemed to get it okay!

I have set my son up with his own free spotify account.  I have upgraded my account to Family Premium.  I send him the email to add family member.  I click on "redeem" and it says "unfortuantley this premium code does not seem to be valid.  try again or contact customer service.  I have deleted him and resent the invite.  Same message.

What am I missing?

thanks
