I have things on spotify like language courses, meditation and sleep tracks that I regulary listen to, frankly i dont want my followers to see these at all, but i recently found them nicely stored there against my public spotify profile under 'recently played artists'. I cant remove followers or 'remove' recently played information... this is extremely annoying. What is the obsession with 'sharing' everything in peoples lifes with each other, come on spotify and allow us some privacy please.
There should be a way to 'hide' an artist/album from followers?
FYI - all my privacy options are turned on yet people can still see this information on my profile.
Do you have the new desktop version 1.0.1?
There is currently no option to turn this off in the version. I don't think it has been added back in yet.
In version 0.9.15 there was an option to hide recently played artists in the settings.
Note: Even if you have the setting to hide recently played artists, YOU will still see them when you visit your profile, but OTHERS will not be able to see them.
I suggest you contact support so they can help you. They might be able to turn the "hide" setting on for you.

If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it, even if it's from a no-reply address.
Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.
You can also tweet to @SpotifyCares on Twitter for help.
I think there is something going on with the algorithm lately when it comes to 'Recently Played Artists'
I just checked my profile, out of the 20 featured recently played artists, there are 5 that I have definately NEVER played recently or in fact at all!!
And its no suprise (to me) that they are all artists on major record labels.
Some kind of 'sponsored' placing on peoples profile I suspect.

Are you listening to songs that include featured artists? for example "feat. x" or in the artist section of the song there is another artist?
Those artists will also appear in the section.
Thanks @MattSuda, no I don't listen to any of those artists (even tracks that feature them).
As a precaution, I logged out of all devices & changed my facebook password in case another user was using my account.
You can now hide followers and following from your public profile and from followers:
Hello, I don't know if this is the right place to ask about this, but why cannot there be several Release Radar kind of playlists? I mean, do I want to hear an energetic Ava Max remix on my Release Radar and then it will play an ASMR track? It makes no sense as what does ASMR have to do with EDM or pop music artists? Come on fix this please…also I notice some artists that I do not even follow on Spotify conquering my entire Release Radar for no good reason. What is this algorithm? Do better Spotify please.
