Can't change my credit card details

Can't change my credit card details

I changed bank and credit card this month and now Spotify reacted when they were not able to have their payment. I've now tried to change my payment details but it doesn't work. The answer I get is that my payment method seems to have problem at the moment. What can I do?

Hello @Karve1. Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!

That's not good it's giving you trouble when trying to change payment details. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to make sure nothing weird is happening when you're trying to get those new payment details entered!

 

I suggest clearing your browser cache and cookies just to ensure nothing is left in your browser conflicting with changing your payment details.

Alternatively, you can try accessing your Subscription Details page from your browsers Private Browsing or Incognito mode, usually accessible from the File > New Incognito menu. Both of these options essentially start you with a completely clean browsing session.

 

Also be sure that the payment method you're trying to use is a Credit Card with an address in the same country as your Spotify account. You've probably already checked this, but I'm just making sure, that's all. 🙂

I've been trying to change my credit card payment information on Spotify for the last couple of months, as I want to close the bank account that I've been using for Spotify. After trying multiple cards, incognito mode, clearing cache, etc. etc., Spotify continued to tell me it was my bank's issue, which wasn't true. The only thing that worked for me was canceling my subscription and then (same day) going back in and signing up for a subscription and selecting Paypal as my payment method.

 

Hope this helps, because none of the other "solutions" for this issue work.

Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the conversation. Hope you don't mind me replying in English, as that's the official language of the Community!

 

The price of the subscription is always the same month by month (excluding yearly increases). If this charge is changing, it's possible that it got included some taxes that may increase the price, but the taxes are added by your bank. Other different option, is that you could be subscribed in 2 different accounts by mistake and are paying for 2 separated accounts.

 

However, since we don't have access to users' accounts from the Community, we'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Support, so they can check your individual account and explain more in detail the charge that you're getting.
