Manage Premium Devices

Solved!

Manage Premium Devices

I've set up a new premium account, separate from my old original account, so I can use it on my smart TV, iPhone, iPad, but there's nowhere on my account settings to see what devices my new account is registered to? What if I want to switch devices or get a new phone/TV? I've accidentally logged in on my (this) laptop, but there's nowhere to say how to unlink this device from the premium account?

Just start using your new device, there is only a restriction on the number of offline devices (so offline playlists) you have.

When you add a 4th device, whichever is the oldest device will automatically be removed.

That can be impractical though... the last device is not necessarily one I'm not using anymore. I had a few occasions where my main device was de-sync'ed that way, and I had to re-download everything again.

A feature allowing do de-authorize individual devices would be a good addition to the curent mechanism. If I fail to de-autorize a device and end up with more than three the oldest one would still be de-sync'ed, but at least i would have options to prevent that from hapenning.

Other people think that would be a good idea too:

Good post in the link. I have exactly the same issues, so agree 100%.
But i see no answer or status on this? Does Spotify agree and will work on this or.....?

Maybe this was true in 2013:

> Just start using your new device

but it definitely isn't now.  Spotify will now report extremely unhelpful and misleading network/DNS errors when you try to do this rather than a) update your registered devices for you or b) tell you what the actual problem is.  Full details https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Accounts-and-Subscriptions/Can-t-login-to-Spotify-from-iPhone-...

I have just signed up for for premium and I want to have it on my iPad, laptop and smart tv but I can’t find a way to do this. Thanks 😊

Hi there @bernielowe,

Thank you for taking the time to post in this thread.

You should be able to log in with the same username and password on any device. Can you confirm if you tried that?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Take care!
