Cannot edit Profile

Hey there,

 

I tried to edit my profile in the edit profile section ("Profil bearbeiten" on the german website). In particular, I tried to untick the sharing of registration data thing. But when I click the save button it gives me an error saying that this email is already used - for sure it is, by this account! The email is verified.

Thanks for getting back to us @Pat711!

 

Could you let us know if you're able to change your email address?

 

We'd recommend using an email address from a different domain if you have one.

 

It's also a good idea to try this in an an incognito window to avoid issues that might be caused by the stored cache in your browser.

Hello Elena,

 

thanks for your answer. Private mode of Firefox didn't change anything. But when I changed the Mail address AND the setting I wanted to change I was able to succesfully save the settings. Afterwards I changed my Mail back to the original one, so only the desired setting was changed.

Strange workaround, but worked out 😉

Thanks for reaching out.

 

It sounds as if you have some kind of autofill feature enabled. I'd recommend giving it a try in another browser or on another device to prevent this from happening.

Are you using mobile or on a desktop/laptop?

If you’re using mobile, your profile edifications are very limited to what you can do on the computer/web version. You can edit your profile using not the web player, but the spotify profile page. There should be settings to edit your profile on that.

Ps: Nice name. That’s my middle name but people refer to me by Max, and always think it’s short for Maximillian or Maxwell.

Thanks so far,

 

but another browser leads to the same problem. Opera, Firefox and even IE. I don't even touch the E-Mail field. But the result is the same. The message says this E-Mail is already being used.
