Cannot log in to Spotify because my old email address doesn't exist any longer

My Question or Issue

I have a new email address and the old one doesn't exist any longer.

In order to change the email address in my Spotify account, I tried to log in with my password, but for some reason Spotify requires me to also enter a "verification code", which it tries to send the old address. This code obviously never reaches me.

How can I change the email address in my Spotify account, when I'm not logged in?
