Changing username

My Question or Issue

I've noticed there's no option to simply change our usernames (although I'm not sure why)...and it says to create a new account in order to do this. I also log in with facebook. Would I get double charged to create another account? As I'm an extensive user, would I be able to easily transfer my library and playlists? All I'm wanting to do is change/update my username, and now I have more questions than I had before. LOL

Nothing to worry! Ask as many questions as you want 😉

Firstly just follow this guide to cancel your Premium Subscription following this guide.

Secondly you want to move all your library to the new account. I would recommend using a Desktop app of Spotify for that, because it is easier for you.

Just drag and drop the palylists to the desktop and you should be good to go. Don't forget your saved songs! Select them all (CTRL+A for Windows and Command+A for Mac) and right click on any of the songs there to add them to a new playlist. After you drag them to the desktop you are free to Close your Account. You can read this FAQ for more 🙂

Now you can Sign up for you new account and don't forget to choose the username you like this time 😉

After you have setup your new account just drag the links of the playlists from the Dekstop to Spotify Playlists section and they should appear there now. Tap on follow or do the same trick with Saved Songs I mentioned above to create now your own playlists (I guess more preferable for you).

You should be good to go now!

I seem to have come up with a solution that displays my desired nickname/username. My facebook has my desired nickname, so I just logged out of spotify on all devices, then started hitting sign up with facebook across my platforms of use. It pulled up my current account, and my nickname is now what I want it to be. I think the cache just needed to be wiped, so that's what I did. And no additional "work" required. Thanks, though.
