Concerns re: Premium and Android

Concerns re: Premium and Android

Hey guys I just got premium and I have some questions.

1. If I chose a playlist, let's say the 'Top 100 Tracks Currently on Spotify', and enabled it for offline mode, then a song I really like got removed from the playlist some weeks after, will that song be deleted from my phone as well (considering it isn't in another playlist I downloaded)?

2. Where does Spotify store the downloaded songs for offline play?

3. Can my dad and I login to the same Premium Spotify account on different phones at the same time? If not, can we at least login to the same account at different times but use the same offline mode feature of the premium subscription?

4. Is there an option to enable a "mini Spotify" on Android's drop-down menu? It's where we can use the 'play/pause' and the 'next' button, as well as see what song's currently playing, just like the usual music players.

Hi there,
Welcome at the Spotify Community!

1. No, the song will be deleted from your phone's storage. I would recommend you to make your own playlists with songs you like, indicting the songs from the top 100 playlist. This way you only can delete by yourself (or when a music label decides to remove the song from Spotify).

2. Spotify might save data at the following places:

  • /emulated/0/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /ext_sd/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /sdcard1/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /data/media/0/Android/data/com.spotify.music

3. Logging into the same account, to use it for listening to music is not allowed (please take a look at the terms and conditions of Spotify). I would recommend a family subscription.

4. My Android devices (Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1) both have this feature by default. I can't disable it because it makes it possible for Spotify to pay music while the app is running on the background.

Please leu me know if you have any more questions!

No more questions for now, although it's sad that my S3 doesn't have that player in the drop-down menu. It does have a player in the lockscreen and as a widget though.

Thank you 🙂
