Delete Account and copy Playlists from there nonetheless

Dear Community,

I belong to the growing number of people, who want to delete their Facebook account. Unfortunately (as many others), I have used my Facebook Account to creaty my Spotify account. After having done some research, I know that the only real option I have is to go through the fuss of creating a new account and creating my playlists there again from scratch (only deactivating my fb account is not an option from me, I want this thing gone).

So option 2 on this page: https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/I-want-to-disconnect-Facebook-from-my-Spotify/ta-p/1308147

So here is my problem, this thread (https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/I-created-a-new-account-Can-I-transfer-my-playlists-saved-musi...) tells me that I can copy my old playlists into a new account by making them public, searching for the old account and then copy-pasting them into new playlists.

However, I want to use my old E-Mail-Adress, hence I need to close/delete my old account to make a new one.

Now my question is: when I delete my old account, will it still be visible online so that I can copy my playlists from there to a new one? (I suspect not).

The thread to "closing your account" says that I can reactivate it for 7 days. Would it otherwise be possible to do the playlist-transfer within that time period? (that, however, can only work if I can already create a new account with the same E-Mail-Adress within that period).

Gosh. Why is this stuff so complicatet. Please help.

Hey @Rhetorica ,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

In this case, you would have to temporarily use a different email address for your new account. The email address of the existing account will become available for use 7-30 days after closing the account.

Also, keep in mind that you can only copy the playlists of the other account as long as it's not closed yet.

Hope this clears things up 🙂
