Duo - Incorrect Adrees

Solved!

Duo - Incorrect Adrees

Duo

Country

Colombia

My Question or Issue

Hey guys. I changed my subscription to Duo, so I can share accounts with my wife. I put out current address in my account, and when validating it with my wife account, it says the address is not the same. I am checking it literally with both cellphones at the same time, I am sure there is no typo.

anyone with the same problem?

Hey @tomimachi ,

Thanks for getting back.

There are two possible reasons you're currently unable to accept the invite:

  1. Your country setting doesn't match with the one set in your wife's account (or the other way around). You can check the country setting at https://spotify.com/account
  2. You're currently in a different country than you usually are

Let me know how it goes 🙂

I do have the exact same problem. If this can't be solved I will have to cancel the duo subscription. Any ideas on a workaround?

Hey @tomimachi,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

Please share the exact error message that appears when attempting to accept the Premium Duo invite.

Looking forward to your reply 🙂

It says (translating from Spanish):

‘You have to live in the same address than the plan owner.

it seems you are trying to join a Duo Plan from another country. Duo is only available for couples living toghether. Try again when you are in the address registered.’

I ve checked again and the address is exactly the same I put in my account… but is true we are in Spain on vacations. May be that’s the reason?

i am joining a family plan, but as i am doing the verification and typing the correct address, it says it is incorrect and i don't know what to do

Hi there,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!

Has the plan owner entered the street number in the address on their Family page? If so, ask them to try and remove it, and then send you another invite to the plan to see if that does the trick. It's also worth checking that both of your accounts are located in the same country as previously mentioned in the thread.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

I've also got the same problem. I recently moved and changed my address to match. Since moving and getting a new partner, he's been trying to accept my invite and enter his address to confirm. The verified address that pulls up is the same as I entered as account manager, but multiple times now it has said the address doesn't match, even though it's verbatim and we're signing in from the same country domain and everything.

Hey @9tnedyu-21_2u,

Thanks for reaching out!

Just to confirm, have you tried the steps mentioned earlier in the thread? For example, you can double-check so that the region settings of both accounts are up-to-date on the account page. You and your partner can sign in to your respective accounts to check this. After having a look at the settings, try updating the address registered for the plan and send a new invite. Even if you enter the same address as before, it could help force a resync of the info.

It's also worth checking if opening the invite in another browser or using an incognito window makes any difference for your partner. If possible, he can try while connected to another network or different device as well. Just make sure he's physically at your home address when doing so.

Fingers crossed this helps! Cheers.
