Hi Everyone,

 

Few years ago I used to have Spotify on my Mac. Today I re-downloaded it as I just subscribed to spotify premium. Once I am trying to login on Facebook or directly by email I have a pop up saying : The user name or password is incorrect - Error code : 3. 

My email, password and Facebook are working on Safari or Chrome (when I want to connect to my account) but when it's on the spotify plateforme it won't work.

 

Please let me know what's the issue if someone alreday had it.

I have the same trouble. I'm not going through FB though. I can sign in through the website but I've just downloaded the programme to my mac and the username and/or password brings up the Error Code: 3.

Try to follow these:

 

  • Reinstall Spotify
  • Try to use another username if you have one connected to your account.

I have recently purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro and have downloaded the Spotify App but can't get past Error 3, incorrect Username or password. I can log on to the Spotify website using thes details and it confirms I have a Premium Account but won't let me into the site to use.

 

I have tried working out how to contact Spotify direct customer support but it just keeps pointing me to sign in to do this but obviously I can't log in!!

 

I have reset the password a few times and am starting to get really confused.

 

Can anyone help?

I tried to follow your steps but I just have one account which is the one I am trying to connect with.

 

Hard to find the solution.. Hope someone can help me.

Hiya, I have deleted the app on my laptop and downloaded and installed
again. I only have one username and password (which works through Safari)
but I tried again on the app and it says Error Code: 3 again.

  • Checking your login details are correct. Make sure you’re using your Spotify username (not your email address) and password. If you created your account using Facebook, use the Log In with Facebook tab. 
  • Try to use an other wifi connection(For example your phone network)
  • If you’re still having issues logging in, try resetting your password.  

I'm having the same issue. As of this morning I wasn't able to login to spotify with my facebook account. It's the only account i have connected to spotify. I tried resetting my facebook password but it didn't help. I tried redowloading the app on my phone, still nothing happend. I can't even login to spotify.com.

Hope there will quickly be a fix for this.

Have you tried to reset your password recently?

About 5 times, it works when I sign in through a browser but not when I try to login through the downloaded programme.

Do you have some old password reset that you haven't replied to. Please check your inbox mail.

Nope, I was very systematic when I reset my password. It's odd that it works online but not in the programme... I'll try downloading it again later today and another password reset. Thanks

Id there any solutions for this yet!!! I am very frustrated here... Is there a way to contact someone crom Support directly instead of asking through this forum??? Seems we are going nowhere here!!!

After I got this error message I reset my facebook password to see if I could log in again

This one worked after AGES of trying to fix this problem... THANK YOU!
