Error when trying to create a device password?

Error when trying to create a device password?

Last night I attempted to setup a device password on my account so that I could access Spotify through a device which requires a username and password, which I do not currently have setup, as I originally my account with Facebook. I went and found the links in the account settings page, and it sent me an email to setup the password, however when I click the link, it just brings me to an error page, that tells me to try again later. I have tried several times, including requesting a second email, all to no avail. Please advise on how I can do this, I really don't want to create a new account and go through the hassle of transferring my playlists and data.

Hey @Mainegrw!

 

That's odd. You can try the process using an incognito window too. Also, remember you can log in using your Facebook email and password. If if it's still not working, our support team can help you create a new account.

I am still experiencing the same problem. To clarify a little bit, I receive the email from Spotify that provides the link to setup the device password, but clicking on the link just sends me to an error page and/or and expired link message. Further attempts to make this work have been met with the same result. I may reach out to Spotify Cares for help at this point.
