Fake streams

I know many people who have fake streams I don’t understand how this works. It also seems like when my close friends or even when I myself stream my music from various devices none of those streams seem to ever get registered. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

As fake streams are an external service user/artist are buying to present high numbers on their account - it is a growing and well known (fortunate thing in my opinion)  epidemic.

You can see it happen not only on music streaming services but across a wide range of online social services.

Addressing your second question, if we're talking about streams not prejecting on your artist profile or other artist profiles you better address this quesion to the Spotify for Artist support here for better answers.
