Family Plans should allow multiple streams from same account

Family Plans should allow multiple streams from same account

Plan

Premium Family

Device

(iPhone, iPad, Sonos)

My Question or Issue

Family plans allows for up to 5 simultaneous streams provided each stream has its own email address.  Why not just allow multiple streams by counting the total number of connected devices at any one time (like Amazon Music, Netflix, etc.)  does?  It is an irritating limitation.  This becomes a bigger issue when you add an attached device such as Sonos.  For my spouse, we both like to share our playlists and want a similar feel on the Sonos as on our phones without having to log into our individual account each time.  To avoid the log-in, we have set up a separate Sonos account, but then Playlists have to be manually updated.  Spotify is a premier service, why not just allow the multiple streams up to plan limits?

Hey @mike4902, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

That's a great idea. I'd recommend submitting a new Idea here, where Spotify may look into it and other people can +VOTE to the idea.

I hope this helps 🙂

This question has been asked so many times now. Spotify will say "great idea" then a year later your request will be closed for "not enough kudos".

It's absolutely ridiculous there is no option for a single account to have the ability to pay more to add more devices for simultaneous streaming. The family plan workaround is useless as even if you set up different devices on different family plan users, the playlists don't sync.

Here is the graveyard of the same requests:

Totally agree with stellardrive. This is so frustrating. I need to check out Apple Music ... getting tired of this Spotify BS.

I cannot enjoy simultaneous streaming on two different devices/users which are both part of a family plan. how do I solve this problem?
