A hacker has changed my account email and password. I can now only access my account with my facebook login, and I can't change the password or email back. I am having to fight with this guy to get my music to stream. I have filled out the support.spotify.com form and they emiled me saying it was a log in error that should have been fixed. This was last night and despite me repying to them hours ago that he is still listing to music with my account, no reply can be bothered. This is very frustrating. I have replied to the support emails and emailed account-details-changed@spotify.com This is terrible support for a service that I pay for every month.
Hey @jarett,
Spotify Support can look into this.
Contact form: http://bit.ly/SpotifyCFA (Make sure you're logged out of any Spotify accounts while using the form)
Facebook: http://bit.ly/SpotifyCaresFB
Twitter: http://bit.ly/SpotifyCaresTW
If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the Knowledgebase or the Spotify Community, you need to reply back to it, even if it's from a no-reply address.
Support usually replies within 24-48 hours, sometimes even faster.
Thank you for you help, but the link has been followed and filled out. I have tweeted and direct messaged them on twitter. At this point I am just trying to get someone to actually look into it. When I filled out the form, they told me they would contact me at the hacker's email so Im trying to find an independen't line of contact.
SpotifyCares on Twitter or FB are probably the best contact methods for your support case then
Hey,
When you tweeted/DM'd them, did they reply to you / say anything?
- James
Not at this point.
Would be best to wait a little longer than.
Support usually answer within 48 hours, usually a lot quicker however.
Sorry you can't be rocking this time out! 😞
Hey @jarett!
I thought you cannot access your account?
Playlists can be recovered at https://www.spotify.com/account/recover-playlists/
I can access it from my facebook login, but I can't change the password or email without access to the current password or email. So yes I have the privlege of watching him have his fun, but I can't do anything about it.
Can spotify help me with my bull**bleep**? i didnt know 6 other people were allowed to stream my account. like what the **bleep** is going on??? i go to play a song and someone else switches my **bleep**. how can i enjoy my music when i have to battle people to play songs. no one knows my password or anything wherever i travel to someone else has access to my account help me immediately please.
Have you reached out to Spotify Support about this yet? They'll help you out.
Hey @novavitamin,
It sounds like someone may be accesing your account. To prevent this, go to https://www.spotify.com/account/overview/, change your password and press the "Sign out everywhere" button.
I'm in the same boat. I just had my account settings all changed this morning before I got to work and now I can't do anything with my email address and password. The person is in Germany and deleted all my playlists and saved albums. I went into the albums and he had a bunch of crap I don't listen to. Deleted all those albums and am in the process of adding all mine back. However I stopped since he has the password and I'm sure he'll just do the same to me. Support needs another way of verifying people's accounts so they don't have their info changed and just in case it does happen, another way to reset the email/password without it going to the hacker's email address.
