How many albums/ songs can I save?

Solved!

How many albums/ songs can I save?

I try again...because I have a question I can't find any answer to here... Why does albums I save one day, disappears the next day? I think I had about 850 albums (roughly) one day, and saved about 50 more. The next day those new saved albums was gone. What happened?...and why is there no information about how many albums/ tracks you can save...? (they were marked as saved when I did it).. I think Spotify has developed a very good idea here...( I simply love it!) but I need information about how many I can save  before it is fully.

There's a 10,000 song limit in 'Your Music' (like in any other playlist).

I too would like to know as I can't seem to find an official answer anywhere, regarding saves at least. For the last month or so I have not been able to add new albums, but I can add the songs to playlists no problem.

I've read that the 10000 song limit is a per playlist basis (fair enough) but others claim that it is a library limit which would be deal breaking. You are essentially limiting my bookmarks? Who does that? I'm nowhere near the limit and can't save any new albums... or delete old ones...

In my research, I haven't come across anything pertaining to album limits.

Most of the articles I've found date back to 2014 so it's hard to know if all the info is valid now.

Any official clarification on the subject would be very appreciated.

Hi Marti!

I did not get any answer from the community, so I sent the question directly to spotify central and I actually got a response from them. I will give you some extract from the mail I got from them:

"Right now, you can save up to 10,000 songs in Your Music.

Most users donโ€™t reach this limit, but we are working on expanding it. We're also building a feature that will notify you if you've reached the limit.

The first thing you should also check is that you have enough free space on your device to save the tracks or albums. We recommend at least 100MB just to be sure.

If you donโ€™t, try deleting some unnecessary files or apps.

If this does not help, we need to check first if this has something to do with your account or if it's happening within the app."

So I tink this applies to both lists and albums. But it looks like they're working on it ๐Ÿ™‚

Best wishes

Thanks for sharing that info!

I think spotify don't know how some of the older generations listen to music. I grew up with tapes and CDs so I am more inclined to listen to music the way most artists would prefer; as albums (as opposed to the younger crowd who are perfectly content on having a playlist with one or two songs at a time per artist). Just something I've noticed, as to how true that is I can not say! The song count goes up much faster if you save albums rather than individual songs and I prefer seeing albums in my library with complete tracks rather than an unorganized mess of bits of albums.

I'm not holding my breath for this change, and when and if it does arrive, it is likely to be underwhelming!

Thanks again!

You're welcome, I'm glad to help ๐Ÿ™‚ I agree with you one hundred percent in your way to describe the difference between younger generations way to listen to music compared to us, a little bit older... And I simply love old covers! ...and of course hate best of albums and ultimate collections ๐Ÿ™‚

Now, we have to sit and wait for the changes to come on Spotify.

Have a nice day!

Did anyone figure this out? All of a sudden I cannot save Albums anymore in the "Your Music" section of Spotify. If I delete one album, I can then save one more album, so clearly I have hit some Album/Song ceiling, but I have no idea what it is because Spotify does not tell you how many Albums or Songs you have, nor did they notify me that I hit a cap. Update the software and notifications, Spotify!! Bummer!!
