Linked account issue

So I have Spotify linked to my psn account on my PlayStation 4 but I cannot login to it with my Playstation 3. I am using the same psn account through both consoles. The playStation 3 is saying that I need to link the account and when pressing the Link Accounts button it just tells me that it is already linked, but I still don't have access to Spotify with it. I thought that it was supposed to automatically log me in when I sign into my psn account from any console no matter what. The only solution is for me to log out of Spotify from my PS4 and log in through my PS3. But that is a pain and I shouldn't have to do that all the time because I frequently swap consoles. I have looked everywhere in the help section and could not find an answer to my issue.
