Logging in to Roku using a Facebook login is impossible?

Just want to play Spotify on my Roku, but can't log in because I set it up with a Facebook login.

1. Went through the complicated procedure to retrieve my million-character username.

2. Went back online and found the Spotify link to generate a device password (https://www.spotify.com/us/account/set-device-password/); received the email, but the link was broken. Just took me to a page saying "oh no! something has gone wrong!"

3. Googled some more, found that you can set app passwords through FB (https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=security&section=per_app_passwords). Generated a password, but it didn't work. 

Is there some other way to do this? So far it's just been a frustrating music-free morning.

Hey @user-removed,

If you haven't already, follow this to get a device password:

1. Go to Facebook settings.
2. Select Security.
3. Select App Passwords. 
4. Click Generate App Password. 
5. Enter your current Facebook password and click Submit.
6. Enter Spotify, and Facebook will automatically generate a password for you.

You can use it, with your Facebook email address as username, to log into Spotify directly on any device.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but this was my step 3 that didn't work. Wouldn't let me log in with the generated password, either with my username or my FB email. Tried it twice.

Same here but with trying to login using to Onkyo receiver...

I am with others on this thread.  The ability to conect to spotify on through roku is darn near impossible.  My husband was able to login to his non facebook Spotty account with ZERO issues. When I tried to login using my facebook based spotty account, nothing worked.

We tried using original FB username and password,

We tried using the LONG spotty username and FB password,

We tried both user names with the FB App generated password.

No method seems to link a FB Spotty account to the Roku spoty device.

There IS NOT "apps password" feature at the FB security settings.  I keep seeing this "solution" on the Roku boards cut and pasted, FB no longer has an "apps password" or anything remotely like it feature.

You have failed these boards.  You left out the step:

"Use two-factor authentication."  No one can get this to work because this step is NOT in the step by step instructions left above. It should be step 3.
