Merging Artist Account with User Account

Hi,

I've had premium spotify for over a year now and enjoyed listening to all sorts of music and have many playlists. I'm also an artist myself, and recently signed up on Distrokid and published my new album here.

My question is that I have heard from a few places that you can link the Artist page that the distributers put up with the music and the user account the actual artist has. How does one do this? I'm pretty confused and can't find a resource. 

And also, If you can merge the accounts, can YOU edit the Bio, Profile pic, etc.?

To do this, you will need an account which is verified. To link your account with your artist account, follow this guide:

Alright, so I had followed my artist page from my user, and I saved my album to my user. 

Now, it removed the artist page and album from my saved list and I can't find myself if I search.

Does that mean I did it and am using my artist or did something horribly wrong happen and I got removed from spotify?

Attention! These posts have been written back in 2014, unfortunately this is no longer the case. Spotify is not able to merge artists and use profiles. 😞

how am i supposed to use my artist account on spotify and change the about section and get my song on playlists etc?? 

At the moment I'm only able to use my personal account and the most I have done is follow my artist account but can't get any closer to it than that

Same here. I would like to merge both accounts together since I do all of my listening and playlist making from my personal account.
