My Question or Issue

New laptop arrived today, I promptly updated the OS and tried to install Spotify. It hangs at the login. I have gotten accounts error 4 and accounts error 1. I have rebooted my router; uninstalled, deleted all support files from ~Library, rebooted and reinstalled; checked my Network settings against my older laptop; cleared my DNS cache and history. And I've done this all a dozen times. I did once get it to work... but it wouldn't play music or download all the images. (See screenshot.) So I went through the process again and got the same errors.
The web version works for me, as do my installs on the old laptop, iPhone, and iPad.
Help.

YHey @BrooklynBen,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community about this.

We appreciate all the troubleshooting you've tried so far. Taking into account that the error mentions the word "account", it would be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the error persists.

If the issue persists, it's possible that your Mac's firewall (or third-party antivirus software) might be blocking Spotify's connection. So we'd also recommend making sure Spotify has all the necessary accesses and permissions by following the steps mentioned here.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it works.
