Playlist not playing in order

Solved!

Playlist not playing in order

Hi. My Spotify is not playing songs in any order. I have got a playlist, but when i play a song in this it switches to a random song not in my playlist when the song is finished. I have tried to shuffle play too, but it still remains the same. It is not just in the personal playlist but also in any other playlist. Someone who got any ideas?

Just to be clear, you dont have The shuffle option on in The song panel?

If not, please Try reinstalling Spotify.

Let me know how it goes.

It means you probably havent got premium. Without it Spotify automatically shaffles your songs. You can buy it on The Spotify page.

I got premium, but still it does that. I am sure i am logger in too, because i can download the playlist as usual

It got fixed by deleting Spotify and installing it again. Thanks:)

You're welcome.

I'd be really grateful if you set my reply as an answer to your problem. Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi
Just wondering what it is that makes this happen?
Just curious ...
Delete & Re-Install worked a treat, thank you.
"Let them Fight it out"

Hi @DJSwain,

What causes the issue can depend on a number of factors and it's difficult to tell which of these could be the case based on what we know of your experience.

What's certain is that, as a Premium user, you should be able to play any songs available in the Spotify catalog and sort the order of songs in playlists and tailored queues.

For the future, if you're experiencing similar issues with playback, you can check out this article and follow the relevant steps to see which of these does the trick.

Hope this helps. Let us know if we can help with anything else 🙂

Reinstalling the app worked for me too. I suspect this problem will come back as it has before. I’ve had a premium subscription for years but this problem makes it quite frustrating to use so I’m often on Apple Music instead.

Hey folks,

We’re happy to hear this is now fixed for everyone.

Now you can enjoy your music with Spotify.

Thank you and take care!

I'm still experiencing this problem

Sorry, Ivan, but it is not fixed.

I've tried to solve it by 'Force Stop' the app without success.

Reinstall needed.

Please escalate this to your development team.

Hey there @cats8 and @Trainer28,

Thank you for your posts here in the thread.

Can you try to perform a clean reinstall of the app? This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

Just to confirm - did you follow these steps that was provided by @Mario

You can also try with another internet connection to see if the issue persists.

Keep us posted. We'll have an eye out for your replies 🙂

Cheers!

It seems that my message was not clear, sorry.

The quick reinstall works.

But is this the proper solution?

Every time to reinstall the app?

Hey there again @Trainer28,

Thank you for your reply.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

This can depend on many factors. A reinstall will make sure your app is up to date. It can also help you clear old cache files that's causing the issue.

If the issue starts again - just get back in touch with us so we can help you further 🙂

Cheers!

The problem is not fixed. I am also a Premium user and I am having the same issue. Shuffle is toggled off, songs are jumping around not in the order I have on my screen. Very frustrating.

In case a reinstall did not help (like in my case):
For me its was just a mattet of deleting the song queue. There were a bunch of songs waiting in line from a previous party. So every time a clicked the next song button, it would actually play something from the queue. That made me think, it was playing random songs.

Clear your queue or Spotify will pick the next track from that rather than the playlist you want. It's the triangle with three lines button.

But if your delete the app won;t everything that you saved to it be gone too?

Hi there folks,

Thank you for your replies in this thread as we just came across.

Can you let us know if you still have this issue?

@MWNEFT - we can confirm that everything will still be there as it's connected to your account and not your device. The only thing you'll have to re-do would be to download your playlists on the device you're deleing the app from.

Take care!
