The 'Recently played' function has stopped working on my desktop software. Can anyone provide a solution?

Hey @thedude, welcome to the Community!

 

Can you make sure you didn't accidentally disable this feature? If you're on the desktop app, go to Settings > Social > Make sure "Publish my activity on Spotify" is checked.

 

Let us know how it goes.

 

I've checked.  "Publish my activity on Spotify" is switched on.

Can you give us more info of what's going on exactly? Do you want to show/hide your Recently Played artist on your profile, or other users are unable to see the songs you listen to? 

 

Is the section Recently Played under Your Librabry not updating after you listen new music? If so, try reinstalling Spotify with these steps.

Yes, it the 'recently played' under the 'Your library'.

I have uninstalled and installed Spotify without success. I wonder if there is a Windows 10 setting that needs to be altered.

Thanks for getting back to us with this information.

 

Just to confirm, are you using the Windows store version of Spotify or did you download the installer here?

 

Try using both versions to see if it helps. Also, are you able to use a different account on your device to see if it behaves the same?
