Spotify Family Upgrade from Premium

Spotify Family Upgrade from Premium

The Spotify family FAQ says gift cards cannot be used for Spotify family. It also says if I'm an existing Spotify premium user I will not lose what has been paid into my current premium subscription when converting to Spotify family. This seems like the time will be pro-rated since Spotify family is more expensive.

If I were to use a gift card to add a few more months to my current Spotify premium subscription, would I still get credit for those months if I then immediately upgraded to Spotify family?

Hi @scrillamaan

I think yes, it should also convert your Premium time to Premium for Family even if it's from the gift card. (if the gift card is already applied to your account)

I encountered the same thing, I have 1 month gift card, then after 2 days of applying it to my account, I then subscribed to Premium for Family, and my Premium time was just converted to the Premium for Family.

On another note, what you've said is also correct, since the Premium for Family costs more than the regular Premium, then your subscription time will adjust accordingly. You may check that info on your subscription page

Hope it helps.

P.S. I'm not a Spotify employee
