My Question or Issue
For several months (pretty much years at this point), my Spotify friends feed has not been updating, it only shows 1 friend I have, while it should have a dozen others. This has been going on for far too long for it to be a problem on my end as I have changed my devices, settings, and other things to try and fix it. I have reinstalled Spotify and my OS but nothing helps. I also see no friends through my Facebook integration even after disconnecting and reconnecting my Facebook profile multiple times. All my settings are the same as my friends and he can see his friend activity but I can't. I already posted about this problem once, and was told it would fix itself but that was months ago. This is very infuriating as it has been going for so long.
Solved! Go to Solution.
It prob won't be solved for a while since they don't consider spotify friend feature broken. Yea everything definitely works as intended -.-
If you think that Spotify can just turn off everyone’s friend activity toggle to give users more freedom to choose if they want to share their listening activity through the Friends Activity feed or don’t, how come nobody got notified that their toggle was turned off? Basically, users who intentionally had theirs on has no idea it was turned off. There has not been one complaint or feedback that turning off everyone’s friend activity toggle would solve privacy concerns. So how is this a privacy issue and how does this give users more freedom to choose if they want to share their listening activity when they don’t even know that it was turned off in the first place?
Yea, everything works as intended, especially add friend button, when I click it I can't go back to freind list without restarting spotify, ofc friend list is empty and not working. Additionaly in settings: Sharing activity is on and when I change it to off and restart spotify it's back on.... yea everything is working just right xD
Still broken, unbelievable! Fix it!
the friends list is not updating. for example 2 people would show as having played things 2 days ago and then my friend is playing a track and his name does not appear as playing at all despite waiting for full track to play and changing tracks etc...
Spotify's recent update has created a whole slew of issues. I've done everything they suggested, but it hasn't resolved the problem.
Oh wow that is so true! Same here! All the agents I got were either not even aware of the friends activity feature or told me that I had to add friends from Facebook for it to work (which has absolutely nothing to do with the bug reported). Ugh! So frustrating! Each and every time I knew more about it than them. *facepalm*
This is not fixed even one bit. It keeps showing or not showing friend activity randomly - and yes my settings are correct.
I even checked with my friends to see if they stopped sharing their listening activity or stopped using Spotify and I get nope and nopes. Yet I can't see them.
And it hasn't displayed everyone I follow ever. Literally never. Always the same (half of them) that randomly appear of disappear while I know for a fact they use the app daily and haven't changed their displaying listening activity settings.
Please don't tell us it's fixed when it never was, not even a little bit. I've had and flagged this issue for over a year.
Spotify makes your reply inactive and marks the issue as fixed when they don't reach 9 likes apparently. So I keep reposting. Let's show some support!
Hello, I have noticed that my friend activity does not show one of my friends. He has turned on sharing after the update and I have been able to see what he has been listening to since couple days ago. I can currently see five other friends' activity only.

What have you done Spotify?
- Broken the drag song reorder feature
- Broken Friends activity
What next?
Keep us updated so we are not in the dark please, these issues have been going on for a while now.
After restarting the app, I can only see two friends.
Same issue here. My friends have it all turned it on and they are not listening in private mode. After the update, the feature got broken. This issue is going on for a month now.
I have a different problem, the option keeps switching back off. When i turn it on and close the app, when i opet the app it automaticly turns off. Anybody with the same problem?
You're taking a long shot if you think a big company will care about its users opinions. It's sadly obvious how this moderator has to reply a certain way, to not shine through the selfishness of Spotify. This is stupid. FIX THIS PLEASE?!
I use Spotify Premium since 2015 now and I don't understand that you guys mean people living behind the Moon with your fix solutions. The Problem is on your site. For me is the meaning of an premium service that everything should work 100%. And if I pay for a premium service I want to see what my buddys listen too. No update plans to fix your service?? Thinking about to change...
Totally annoying bug.. I hope it will be quickly fixed..
