Spotify won't load profile

Spotify won't load profile

When I launch Spotify on my home laptop, the interface loads but the profile information does not. Unknown User instead and just keeps spinning a circle trying to login. No error message. Nothing. I did uninstall application and reinstalled it but that did not work. Do I need to flush the cache? Do I have to unlink from Facebook? It loads find on another laptop I use.

 

Any suggestions? Thanks a ton!

Huh. So it might be your computer. Try clearing the cache like you said.

Hi, and welcome to the community!

 

Have you tried a Clean reinstallation of Spotify? Make sure you follow the steps exactly to completely remove and reinstall it.

 

What version of windows (Winkey+R, winver) and Spotify (Help>About spotify) are you running?

Does your internet work fine for everything else? Do you use a proxy and/or VPN and/or firewall?

Hi Anthony and thank you.

 

I am running Windows 7 Home Prem. I have the latest version of Spotify installed. I am not home yet but I will try that.

I noticed that for 15 mins + that it would show the profile as a bunch of numbers,  "123456" as an example. The discover home page would not load. I am not behind any firewall of using VPN software at all. It's just a plain login to my wireless network.

When you're back, please also try accessing the web player and see if you can view your profile and discover there. This will determine whether it is an internet issue or a clientside issue.

Well this is really odd. I come home and open Spotify full player. Now it is working. Profile is loading with what I am following. I was about this run that deep uninstall since Windows uninstall has been bad for as long as I can remember such as leaving registry entries, program files folders/data as well as folders ties to apps in user profiles. Somehow it is working now.
