Stolen / Lost Account

Stolen / Lost Account

My Question or Issue:

Today I was listening to music with my phone while doing some stuff on my PC and suddenly spotify stopped working so I look on the phone and it logged-out with no reason. So I tried to log-in but the password (that was automatically saved by both phone and computer with the username) didn't work so I tried to get a new password but as I always log-in with the username I don't remember what email I've used when I created the account years ago. I know it's difficult to get an account back not knowing both email and password (but only the username). But I can demonstrate that the account is mine with billings and other stuff, I really care about that account as I have a lot of playlists and songs...

I'm sure about the password as I logged in recently in my other laptop so maybe it's been stolen as it's part of a premium familiar plan. Is there at least the possibility to know the email connected with the username without logging-in? That would make everything 100 times easier.

Hey @curridor,

Thanks for getting back to me!

In this case, I'd recommend getting in touch with the Spotify support team via Twitter or using the anonymous online contact formThe support team will be able to take a look at your issue, and you'll hear from them shortly. Bear in mind they're unfortunately experiencing significant delays.

If you choose to use the anonymous online contact for, make sure you are logged out of any Spotify account in your browser when using the anonymous contact form so that the username and custom email field will show up. This is important so that you can enter the information of the account you are having trouble with. If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it, even if it's from a no-reply address.

I'd also suggest preparing a screenshot of your Spotify receipt or bank statement, as Spotify may need it for security (make sure it doesn't show your full credit card number, expiration date, or 3-digit code).

Also, if you believe your account has been taken over, there's some more information here.

Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day 🙂

Hey @curridor,

Thanks for reaching out. Welcome to the community!

First up, can you try logging into your account using the username and password associated with your account? Once you've logged in, you can check which email is associated with your account on your account page, and then, if you'd like, you can change the email associated with your account by following these steps.

If that doesn't do the trick, I'd recommend having a quick scan of the email accounts you own, including any spam or junk folders, for emails from "hello@spotify.com". If you have any, it's likely there's an account associated with that email address.

Alternatively, you can enter any email addresses you use into Spotify's password reset form. If there's an account associated with it, Spotify will let you know.

I'd also recommend taking a look at the "Finding accounts" support article.

Let me know how it goes — I'll be here in case you need any further help 🙂

Thanks for replying 🙂

First of all, I can't login as I also don't have the password. I'm sure somehow it changed or better, someone changed it as I always use the same 3 passwords for every account I have, and I also logged with spotify on a new laptop a week ago without any problem, so probably my Account has been stolen.

I did the scan of all the emails I have, and I also added some old emails I've used years ago but nothing... I can't remember what email I could use when I created the account (3-4 years ago).

I also tried the password reset using different emails, still nothing and I also read the Finding Account support page but it didn't help.

I know it's not easy to get an account back like that but I hope someone can help me 🙂
