I was charged 4.99 on my card mid way through the process i had canceled since my phone had died but my subscription is still free and it charged me 4.99 so i dont understand why am i still getting charged when i still dont have premium next steps??

If you no longer want premium,

 

I suggest you contact support so they can help you
