Switching from premium individual to premium duo

Solved!

Switching from premium individual to premium duo

My wife just bought premium duo and I joined hers and am now a member of duo.

How do I make sure I am still NOT also still paying on my individual premium account?

I am using same email as before and showing my same account.  Do I need to cancel the old account to stop paying?  If so, how do I do while maintaining all my saved items?

Hi @Desmond999,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

No worries, if you have Premium Individual and then join a Premium Duo plan using your same Spotify account, your billing switches automatically—so you don’t need to cancel anything.

After accepting the invite to join the Premium Duo plan, you won't be charged for your account any further. Instead, all payments will be made by the Premium Duo plan manager.

In duo I added myself before I had individual account setup for my daughter. Now I have all her playlists and also I couldn't listen to a song because she is on hers. Can you please tell me how to fix theses two issues.

Hi @Kelly-c,

Just to clarify, Spotify can only be used on one device at a time.

I suggest double-checking which Spotify account your daughter is using. You can first double-check your daughter’s devices (if she has any), as it’s possible that you’ve always used the same Spotify account.

Next, you can look for your daughter’s Premium account by following the suggested steps in this support article. As is mentioned in the article, you can go to password reset and enter possible email addresses you own; when you enter an email that's registered with Spotify, you’ll get the message that the password reset email was sent. Note that there are a few other ways to sign up (e.g. with a phone number, Facebook, Apple, or Google), so you can also try logging in with these to find her Premium account.

If you can’t find your daughter’s Premium account, but are afraid of receiving future charges, you can reach out to Customer Support here, so they can help to locate any additional accounts and help to cancel any subscriptions that might be active.
