Using $10 Spotify Gift Card on the Holiday Deal???? Please help.

Hi.

 I want to purchase the Holidays deal which will provide me 3 months for only 0.99 cents. (I am eligible for the deal.) The only payment method that I am comfortable with is using the $10 gift cards that you can buy in stores. The problem is, I noticed that you can use a gift card PIN as a payment option, which works, except for the fact that I payed $10 for the gift card, yet I'll only be using 0.99 cents. My two questions: 1. Will using a card actually work? 2. If so, where does the other 9.01 cents go to? It cant just simply disappear.

To pay with a gift card is actually not an option. They don't work like credits, it's more like "1 card = 1 month of premium". So I doubt you can use the gift card. And even if it was possible, I think the remaining money would have been lost.
