My Question or Issue

Web player (Chrome) message keep popping up even after I choose to listen "on this device ". Thereafter it skips to a random song and does not stream the music to my connected bluetooth devices like speaker or vehicle. Happens on mobile data and home wifi.

My smart box with my Spotify account linked to my wifi and tv does the same; song skipping to random songs I dod not choose without a popup message.

Your assistance will be appreciated. It it a simple setting or because of the free account?

Hi,

So you use the web player to listen to spotify? Or do you use the app and is the web player popping up anyway?

Which platform do you use, samsung galaxy?

If you use the web player, why don't you use the mobile app?

René

Hi

I use the app downloaded from my playstore on my Samsung galaxy. While
streaming via the app, the web player popup comes up, it skips to songs I
do not wish to listen to and no music comes from either the phone or the
Bluetooth device. This random songs still plays, but no sound anywhere.

I appreciate your assistance.

Hi,

Could it be that there's another app which is starting the web player? I have more or less the same experience when I'm listening to spotify and reading my tweets, if a tweet contains a spotify song and I open that song, the web player will be started and the song will be played, the spotify app will pause. This behaviour is what you want because I choose to play that song.

In your case it looks like there's an app which is doing more or less the same but without you choosing the song.

So do you have apps installed like shazam or musixmatch? It could be that they trigger the web player. I don't see a reason spotify will trigger the web player.

Regards,

René
