Why can't we manually block Spotify Connect items?

Why can't we manually block Spotify Connect items?

Seems a bit ridiculous. My account has, for lack of a better term, been breached by either someone hacking spotify or someone getting into my phone, which I'm about to do a wipe on.

They added a bunch of devices and added a bunch of playlists. They keep listening to music with my premium and I'm soon going to say eff it all and just not renew my premium. While I enjoy the music, I'm finding this application lacking severly in privacy and proctection.

I've been pumping, what they might consider, garbage music through their devices, but I can't actually remove them. So effing ridiculous that this never came up in QA for Spotify Connect.

The best course of action when something like that happens is to create a new account with a different email address from the one you're using. That will give you a different Spotify username of your choice.

Once you have this new account, contact customer support and they'll help you migrate your Premium privileges, library, playlists, friends, etc. to this new account.

Connected devices stay with the old account, so you'll have a fresh start without them.

I connected with Facebook. So I have to make a new FB account?

@Houseton

No, you'll be creating a new Spotify account, with your email address.

You can create it here:

https://www.spotify.com/signup/

Once your old account ceases to exist, if you like, you can link this new account to your Facebook again, but now you won't have to rely in the Facebook login process, since you'll have your very own Spotify username.

Quick question. Seems like someone ended my subscription like 2-3 minutes ago... Seems odd it ended after you posted what you did.

edit: Nevermind someone emailed from Spotify just before you posted.

If Spotify has been hacked they have an obligation to let their consumers know. How is the answer to someone using my account fraudulently, make a new account?
