Hi Spotify. 


I'm having some problems with my spotify, it says thet my account doesn't match the country set in my profile, but my profile is made in Sweden and says Sweden in my profile and I live in Sweden on a Swedish IP adress. My boyfriend is having the same problem.
 
We have tried to reinstall spotify, login on phone and web player, but nothing works!
What can we do to fix it?

Are you sure it says Sweden in your account overview?

What OS and Spotify version is this?

Yes, i'm sure it says Sweden! 

It is Windows 7 Ultimate i use in my laptop and IOS on my iphone. I don't know what version of Spotify i'm using, but i downloaded the newest version today and still I can't login.

Could you just check what country shows for you IP address on this site please?

According to that website it says i have an Estonian IP...but if i check on whatsmyipaddress.com it says Sweden...

 

I'm guessing you may be near the border? You should get in touch with your service provider to see what they say. I've seen this come up before in Sweden and the issue may be with your ISP and they should be able to advise you. If you are using free spotify, you should be able to change your country to Estonia on this page while this gets sorted.

 

I believe that Spotify uses the geolocation services of Maxmind and you can report location errors on their page https://www.maxmind.com/en/correction

Ok i will get in touch with our ISP provider but i cant change the country location under account settings because the option is greyed out which its supposed to be if the IP address and the country matches i think?

It may be greyed out because you registered a swedish payment method to get the premium trial or something. If you go to the manage your subscriptions page, you can remove any payment methods, log out and back in and you should then be able to change your country.

There is no payment method linked to my account at the moment.

Strange......maybe get in touch with spotify support here too then. If you get an automated response directing you back to the community or to the help pages, please reply to it to speed things along.

I've already done that 3 weeks ago, but didn't get an answer back. 

We've now talked to our IPS provider, and they said that our IP is in Sweden, and they couldn't see Estonia anywhere, so the problem must be in the webpage that spotify uses?

Yes, report it to Maxmind. That was the only solution which worked for another Swedish user in the same situation - and he worked for his ISP!
