Wrong Facebook attached to my account

So you've logged in with your Spotify username only to see your friend's Facebook picture and name in the top right hand corner. Now your listening history is on your friend's Facebook--what to do?

Not to worry. This can be fixed in a matter of seconds. 

Head over to your Preferences Page within your desktop app: Edit > Preferences (in Windows) or Spotify > Preferences (in Mac)

From there select 'Disconnect from Facebook' under 'Social Network'. You'll know it's disconnected when the button changes to 'Connect to Facebook'. 

If you'd like, you can then link to your own FB. That way this error can't happen again in the future 🙂

Hi! Apparently at one time i had signed up via Facebook, but i never used that account and now actively use one with a spotify user name via my email. I wanted to take advantage of the 3 month offer for premium and when i signed in i clicked "sign in with Facebook", thinking it must be linked to the account i had been using, somehow, kind of like when sites ask if you want to sign in with Google. So iput in my credit card info and opened spotify and of course there was no premium because i signed up with the wrong account! So now i have premium on the account linked to my Facebook and not the one i actually use with all my playlists! I tried to get the offer on the account i use, but it said i had already taken advantage of the offer, i suppose because my card was on file. Is there any way to transfer that card payment to the account i use, or if not to sync the two accounts so i can get all my playlists on premium? And why is there no customer service line? I feel a bit uncomfortable asking these questions on a community forum, I would much prefer to speak to someone privately about my account! Thank you for your help!

Good morning Spotify helpers!

I ended up magically having this username: 1278201535 and the e-mail linked to it is shary.vellojin@gmail.com

I guessed this is my username because I have my spotify account on my iPhone open with this number (without picture)

I was trying to open my account on my laptop app and/or my account page (from the internet) for a possible unsubcription. 

Trying to "remember" my username and/or password I ended up linking my facebook account (shary@sharyrose.com) to spotify creating a new account with my FB too ...as maybe my original is no longer active either?.

I also tried to "reset" my password but never received any e-mail I tried different usernames and mails!

Please, help me transfer over there those playlists and also don't forget MY INBOX MUSIC please! (from username: 1278201535 to my facebook account Shary Rose - shary@sharyrose.com)

This suggestion does not work! I have done this several times and even when the it is not connected my wife's name shows up as logged in when signing in with my spotify account. I have even managed to link my own facebook account and her account still manages to show up. Please help.

It can take up to 1-2 days for the name on the account to change after disconnecting from Facebook

I accidentally connected the wrong facebook acct. I disconnected as recommended log out restart pc, log back in and I can still see the display pic of the previously disconnected fb account. Help much appreciated thanks in advance. Erika

It can take up to 24-48 hours for the profile picture and name to be removed from the account after disconnecting it from Facebook.

Give it a little bit of time. If it still hasn't been removed after 48 hours, try logging out and then back in.

I have linked my spotify account to a facebook account but then wanted to disconnect it. I did this following these steps but now I still have the facebook profile picture in my spotify account. I would like to erase the photo as well.

How can I do?

So if I made the account via facebook there is no possible way for me to disable that account and link the facebook account to a new spotify account?

I have got the same problem, it doesn't let me change the contry..plus I am now living in austria, i do not speak german, i do not want to use the german site...is not posible to live in one country and use other country spotify?

Also I open the account a long time ago when it was only possible to open with a facebook account. I dont want to have facebook link to spotify, but if I try to open a new account tells me that my email adrees is already taken.

Please help.

I followed the steps as you described, but still get my friend,s pic in the spotify screen upperight corner, though now when edit my account,s profile I can see my FB pic. I did not obtain spotify through FB.

Is there any solution please?

just to be clear, there is absolutely no way to create a login for my spotify account that is through facebook? i pay for my account, but i want to deactivate my facebook. so will i have to cancel my membership and then create a new account?
