Hi,

 

New user here. Sort of lost.

 

Today I decided to give Spotify a try. During registration, I was surprised to find that my email existed because evidently I had connected once several months ago, using my Facebook login (why??!!!). I don't want my Spotify account linked to my Facebook account. I also would like a username that is not a series of random numbers. I've read through several help posts on this forum, and realized the following (someone correct me if I'm wrong):

 

1. I can unlink from Facebook 

2. I cannot change my random numbers username, which means that...

3. Only way to change my random number username is to delete my account  entirely (by adding .del to my email address, correct? and it would take 48 hours?)

 

I thought I had unlinked from my Facebook account. But two things: my Facebook profile picture shows up on my Spotify account and when I try to add ".del" to my email, I can't because all those fields are still controlled by Facebook. ("These fields can be edited on your account Facebook page."). And to make matters worse, Spotify no longer shows up on my apps in Facebook.

 

So confused!

 

I've been at this for the past two hours, sort of going around in circles. Any help much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, lokilo!

1. This is how you can disconnect from Facebook. Once you've done that, your Spotify account and your Facebook are no longer going to be linked to each other.
2-3. There's currently now way to change your username but you can always ask a staff member to delete your account. To do this you will need get in touch with the customer services team using the online contact form and they will be able to get this sorted out for you. If you get an automated reply directing you back to the community or to the help pages, make sure to reply to it directly. Once your account is deleted, you can create a new one with a username of your choice (remember to sign up with your e-mail address, not Facebook).

Please delete my account! Received the mail on wednesday. It was promised that everything will be done in 48 hours!

Still no feedback. Sorry, I love Spotify but this is really (!!!!) annoying. I just want to close this account and start it again with a different user name.
