My Question or Issue

Someone has hijacked my account, all my playlists gone. No biggy, I'll set a new password.

Oh, apparently it is a biggy as it can't be done.

Spotify asks me to set a device password, I assume this is because my account was created with Facebook. Clicking the link I get sent takes me to the standard password reset page, I can't reset a password I don't have, and there's nowhere to enter the "device username" I've been given.

Come on, it's 2018, the human race solved the issue of password resets well over 20 years ago. It's not hard.

Hi @Joeskeppi!

Sorry to hear that you think someone else has gained access to your Spotify account. Check out this Spotify Answer for the next steps to take, that should be easier.

As far as how to recover your deleted playlists, you can easily do that from here.

Let me know how you get on! Have a nice day, Jose. 💫
