3,333 Track limit?

3,333 Track limit?

Just out of curiosity, why does Spotify have a 3,333 limit. Did search but without any luck?

There is a rumor on these forums that it is the first number that came to a big music label's boss' head during talks with Spotify...

Honestly? I don't know ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm guessing its 3,333 tracks on 3 devices, which is approx 10,000 a nice round number.

No idea why though as Liam said!

hammeh's answer is pretty much right on here. An account on Premium has license to sync up to 10,000 (or really, 9999) tracks offline. We've split this to 3,333 tracks per device, and each account can have a max of three devices with offline playlists on.

Why can you not have a 9,999 limit and be limited to just one device?

I guess that is just the way the licensing deals where set out. 10,000 tracks is a lot of storage space to have on a phone/tablet too!

It's just frustrating having a 32GB iPod and being limited to 3333. Strange that you can't agree to just using one device
