My Question or Issue
I can no longer add a playlist to the home screen. However, existing links on my home screen still work. When I click on the "three dots" option on a playlist the "add to home screen" option is no longer available; however, this does seem to be available for individual albums.

Hey folks,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
We've checked with the relevant team here at Spotify and they've confirmed that this feature has been deprecated. If you feel strongly about bringing it back, make sure to vote for this idea and subscribe to the thread to receive notifications about any new developments on the subject.
Cheers!
Hi everyone,
We've reached out to our tech folks who have confirmed that with the deprecation of this feature, the ability to add albums to your Home screen, as well as the Recently Played items that used to pop up when long-pressing the app have also been retired.
The aforementioned workaround is no longer functional, so for the time being it's best you head to the idea about bringing this feature back and showing your support.
The Community is always here if there's anything else you need assistance with.
Spotify people when you guys are going to approve the votes? There are already more than 200 votes for them to return the function that was taken from us. Don't be cheaters and give us back the function. We have made a great effort to be taken into account as loyal users to spotify. We have shown them that we deserve the return of that possibility, we deserve it. Don't ignore us.
Because sadly someone who doesn't use that function concluded that if he doesn't need it nobody does.
To make it even worse, this "wonderful and farsighted" person must have a position at Spotify to get rid of a function that he deems to be of no use.
Therefore this human, that had not much luck with thinking, declared this function as deprecated and so it got removed.
It's a completely wrong and shameful decision to remove the ability to pin albums and playlists to the android home screen.
I'm a long time paying user and I make use of this feature every single day.
By the quick reactions on your community you can see I'm not alone here.
I hope you listen and get it back really quickly. In fact, you should add the same feature to your windows desktop app. Cheers!
What does that mean "slow press"?
Why would they remove somthing that was there and worked??

My Question or Issue
Partially works for me. I can add shortcuts like described but am unable to control which albums come up on recently played list when I hold app button...always same 3 albums / playlists regardless of what I play in app.
This is an incredibly frustrating thing to have done from my point of view. I am recovering from a stroke do have memory issues. Having a shortcut on my home screen for new albums means i done have to struggle to remember the name of them and Hunt them down in the app. Please bring this back.
Thanks but the playlist needed is not showing up. But thanks for the info 👍🏽
My recently played when app on home screen is long-pressed is stuck on the 4 same playlists (Pop Mix, House Mix, Hit Rewind & Search) all of 4 which I've hardly played for weeks. The playlist I am actually recently playing is not showing. Please help
As posted by the moderators, the original functionality was removed and the playlists shown as app shortcuts stopped updating from that point. AFAIK the best way to clear the outdated ones is by clearing the app data.
On a positive note, a new feature is being rolled out! A shortcut to the page you last visited on in the app will be available in the launcher's long-press shortcuts, which will be saved if you drag it to your home screen. This works for playlists and artists as well as nearly all other pages, such as Made for You.
If you don't have the feature yet, it should become available soon.

My Question or Issue
I've been missing the feature to add shortcuts to playlists or albums to the Android homescreen for a while now. It's just been missing for a short time. Why?
Finally, it is back!! Hope that all of you already have it or will have it very soon, so update your Spotify 🙂

Sorry, but it's "not back." I just received a new Pixel 7 Pro today, installed all my apps and the feature is still missing.

Hi Chris, I'm sorry you still don't have it. When I listen to the playlist and push longer on the Spotify app, I have the possibility then to add any playlist to the home screen.
Yes, that works but that isn't a feature of Spotify. That's available to all Android launchers. This is a workaround, not a solution. The solution here would be for Spotify to re-add the feature to their app. I cannot believe that Spotify deprecated this feature. Pinning playlist within the app isn't the answer either.
Bro u r a genius...
I was looking for that backdoor...
