My Question or Issue

They finished the lite version with the argument that people now have smartphones and more accessible internet... The problem is, even with 4GB of RAM and a SoC with 8 A53 cores, the main app is slow, it takes 19 seconds to open, each song clicked is a torture to load, swiping is choppy, it's terrible, The phone was formatted yesterday, software reinstalled, so it's not full memory or cache or anything like that, not even internet

Same issue (maybe not as slow as the first person's) on Samsung galaxy s24 with exynos chip

android 14

Spotify v 9.0.28.630

it was fine for like 30min and then it started behaving like this.

It's the same lags that I have, the difference is that for me it's all the time, the phone doesn't even get hot, it seems like a problem with the app.

Hey folks,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and sorry for the late response.

We appreciate all the info and the video you've included in your comments. We've tried to replicate the issue on our end, but the app seems to behave properly, so to continue investigating this issue @Btnd, since we can see on the video that the music is playing over a Bluetooth connection, would you mind confirming if it happens if the playback comes from your phone directly?

Also, as this could also be related to network permissions, could you try with a different network connection to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can test it with your mobile data. If the issue persists, would you mind checking if it happens in offline mode

Lastly @Ariel27, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to add it to the case.

We'll be waiting for your response.

Hi! Spotify version is 9.0.30.642, the problem has been occurring for years, approximately 2, I thought it could be my basic cell phone, but the entire system UI remains responsive at 90Hz, only the app stays that way, As a precaution during testing, no apps were running in the background, memory was free, the entire firmware of the device had already been reinstalled, and RAM had 1.7GB free, Seeing that even a flagship managed to have the same problem gave me hope that maybe it's not all my horrible SOC's fault.. 19 Seconds to open and the entire interface is frozen, and this always happens, there is no point in "leaving it to soak" before moving it, even with Wi-Fi ..

Hey @Ariel27,

Thank you for keeping in contact and for the shared info.

To continue investigating this, it would be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists.

Also, would you mind confirming if you've tried with a different Wi-Fi network as previously suggested?

It's also worth turning off any VPN in case you have one as it may affect the proper behavior of the app.

We'll be on the lookout for your response.

I had tried it before, and my friend had premium, it didn't matter the Wi-Fi, it was the same thing, however, in offline mode, the stuttering was less

Hi!

Since then, I did not have the issue on my end. I'll reach out if it happens again.

Thanks for the responses!

@Btnd glad to hear that the app is now working for you as it should.

@Ariel27 to continue looking into this behavior, let's try some other steps in case any of them make a difference.

Since you mentioned that the stuttering was less when your friend tested in offline mode, then there might be an issue with the network connection. As far as I understand, the issue remains regardless if you're on Wi-Fi or using mobile data. When it comes to Wi-Fi, you could change the DNS settings of your router to 8.8.8.8 which can make an impact.

You've also mentioned that this has been occurring for about 2 years, but could you let us know when you've last given Spotify a clean reinstall? It's a step that we often look past, but a more detailed reinstall often helps with different performance issues and it's worth giving it a shot. You can follow the steps here if you haven't already. If you're using an SD-card I also recommend that you remove it before hand and test without it.

Lastly, since we couldn't open the video that you kindly sent, it would be great if you could attach it once again to your response or upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us.

Appreciate the cooperation and we'll be on the lookout.

Hi! Well, I solved the problem, I took advantage of the fact that I needed a new one, And I migrated to a newer device, 200k difference in AnTuTu scores and 2GB more RAM, the problem no longer occurs here
