App hangs when scrolling long playlists

My Question or Issue

About three weeks ago the app started hanging when scrolling long playlists (I've only got long podcast playlists so that's where I've seen it, unsure if the same thing happens in other playlists). It seems like the further down I scroll in a playlist the slower the loading becomes, until it gets to the point where the app stalls. It always took a little while to load the next section of the playlist, but the problem of it becoming slower and slower seems to have started sometime suring the last three weeks. Ive reinstalled the app, cleared cache and saved data, restarted the phone, made sure the app is not in low battery mode etc. Very annoying since I cant get to the episodes in the middle of the playlist anymore. I'm trying to attach a video showing the issue but it doesn't seem to work in Chrome on the phone.

Thanks for reaching out via the Community, and for providing these details and the video. Kudos also for trying those troubleshooting steps first.

There's currently an Ongoing Issues thread here regarding slow loading and performance issues that our team is actively investigating. Since your issue started about three weeks ago, it could be related, so I think it's worth taking a look there.

To help us determine if this is part of that known issue or it's a separate one, could you please provide a few more details:

• The exact Spotify version you're using.
• Does this happen on both Wi-Fi and mobile data?
• Does it happen in music playlists or only in long podcast lists?
• Have you tested on another phone and does the same scrolling lag happen?
• Have you noticed any other slow loading issues inside the app during this time?

We're here in the meantime if anything else comes up.
