Bluetooth headphones do not work properly with built in android Eq

So i bought Bose soundlink AE2 bluetooth headphones. Eversince i use them, my built in android EQ does not work with spotify.
I can get the EQ to work by switching to my mediaplayer, play local stored music on my phone, then return to spotify>menu>equalizer and change the settings. After that i can turn off my local music player, start the music in spotify and go to the equalizer tab again. Then the EQ is suddenl works for the music.
But it just works for the session and if i restart spotify i have to do everything again. Also sometimes the EQ stops working when i change the song or even mid-play.
I'm on a galaxy s6 edge+, with Android 5.1.1
The EQ works with the local music player so my headphones should not be the problem.
I love spotify so much and i need the EQ to finetune my music, it'd be great if you could help!
