Hello,
I can no longer connect my Suunto 7 watch to Spotify.
I either get an error message telling me to check my network (even though all apps are working) or the connection screen keeps repeating.

My Question or Issue
Hello,
I can no longer connect my Suunto 7 watch to Spotify.
I either get an error message telling me to check my network (even though all apps are working) I'm trying to link my account, but the login screen keeps looping.
My watch is on the latest firmware available, Spotify is on 9.0.66.644
Wear OS on 2.45
Does anyone have an idea ?
Hi everyone,
Our tech team confirmed that due to recent changes, the device is unfortunately no longer compatible with Spotify. We really appreciate you taking the time to post about this and for all the detailed information you have provided during this investigation.
The Community is here if there's anything else you need assistance with.
Same issue here, cant login to spotify with my suunto 7 watch (phone is android galaxy s20 5g) . Latest version of softwares. Tries same as above, nothing helps.
There is happened something when new patch came out.
This is also a problem for Wear OS users, I tried everything 5x and it doesnt work. I use Ticwatch c2+ and i can see my watch on my phone, but is idle and I can't connect it. Frustrating.
Any update to this issue? Specfically chose this watch to use Spotify. In response to earlier question, using Wear OS version 2.66.107.587544675.gms.
Same issue here since i guess the 1st of august. Suunto 7, latest software updates installed.
Same issue as the others in the last week or so. Suunto 7 and iPhone 15, latest software updates, etc. Have tried the lot reinstall, factory reset, and what you’ve suggested in this thread. I either get the Spotify logo or it says “logging in” indefinitely until it times out.
Please help us Spotify!
Hey folks,
Thanks for all the reports and the patience!
Our tech folks are still looking into this, but have asked if you could try the following and let us know if it makes any difference:
Ensure both the phone and Suunto 7 are on the same Wi-Fi network (not mobile data or separate SSIDs).
Restart both devices and the router.
Log out and back into Spotify on both devices.
If possible, try connecting with a different phone or Wi-Fi network to isolate the issue.
Check for any pending OS or Spotify app updates on both devices.
We'll be on the lookout.
Another Suunto 7 that has stopped working, here.
- Both devices are on the same wifi network.
- Both have been restarted (watch has even been factory reset).
- Logged out of all devices and back in.
- Tried one a separate wifi network - no change.
- All OS's and apps are up-to-date.
On a freshly reset watch, I'll install the Spotify Wear OS app. When I run it, it gives me the 3 options to login;
1. The account it has detected on my phone,
2. Manually pairing with the Spotify app on my phone,
3. Manually pairing with the code at spotify.com/pair
All 3 options end up showing the Spotify logo and 'Logging In' shown below, but all eventually timeout with a 'Something went wrong. Make sure your watch has an internet connection'.
The issue still persists for me also after doing all the steps mentioned. It has been 2+ weeks and I am sure there are plenty of user experiencing this issue. I think you should move this up you priority list @Spotify.
Same issue here with my Suunto 7
Problem not solved after following the mentioned steps. Please level up the priority!
I tried, but nothing changed
I'm still locked on this "connexion" step
This doesn't help, please fix this!
I got an email from Suunto that the watch no longer is compatible with Spotify... It will not be fixed...
😲
Seriously ?
How come? This is not reasonable.
This is the mail;
Thank you for contacting us regarding the issue with the Spotify app on your Suunto 7. The issue you described is true, and we understand this may affect your experience.
Since the Suunto 7 has ended its partnership with Google, the device no longer supports the Google Play Store and related services. Spotify, an app available through the Google Play Store, is no longer available on the Suunto 7. This change also affects other smart features that rely on Google services.
We understand the inconvenience this may cause you, but unfortunately, due to changes in our technical architecture, we are unable to restore these features.
Thank you for your understanding and support. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us. 😊
Sincerely,
Unbelievable.. suunto doenst support google services. Do you guys know a good alternative?
All my Google apps (Map, Message, Outlook, Wallet and Others) are still working on my Suunto 7 except Spotify. I've just update all the apps, and they still working.
I guess they don't care and say that so we don't insist.
