My Question or Issue

I have downloaded music files on my desktop as mp3 files, and have set their source file as usable in my Settings for Local Files. I have no problem playing them on my desktop. However, they appear on my phone as greyed out, and not downloaded, unlike the rest of the songs in the playlist I have added them to. I have tried the solutions in this post: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android/Play-quot-local-files-quot-on-my-mobile-device/m-p/4787441#... , but they did not work. Any help would be great!
