My Question or Issue

I can log in to Spotify on my PC but not on the new Spotify music player I purchased expressly to listen to Spotify on. It says my email and password are incorrect. Why??? This device probably isn't actually an Android device--it's this: https://www.amazon.com/innioasis-Bluetooth-Spotify-Pandora-Streaming/dp/B0C615PMPR but I didn't know where else to post this question. Incidentally, I've logged into Spotify on an MP3 player before with no issues. This time, nope,

Appreciate the feedback, folks.

As much as we'd love to help you get back to enjoying your favorite music on Spotify, older app versions (like the one that comes pre-installed on this device) often lack key features and thus do not meet our quality and performance standards.

Such outdated versions are no longer supported, so we cannot guarantee their proper stability & functionality, I'm afraid. For this reason, it's recommended you're always running latest version of the app as it contains the most up-to-date features, security updates and bug fixes. There's more info here, check it out if you're interested.

This page for the M4S model suggests that updating the Spotify app should be possible by reaching out to the folks over at Luoran support. I'm not sure if that's true for @Justus6's M4B too, but in any case, it's best to get in touch with their team for further assistance.

Hope this gets sorted out. The Community is just a post away should you need help with anything else.

Hi there @frs1,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to help you use your new device.

As you can see here, an Android device needs to have at least Android 7.0 in order to support Spotify. It would seem that the player in question uses some sort of modified Android similar to the Kindle and I did some research but couldn't find what version it equates to. It also doesn't appear to have an app store, so reinstalling doesn't seem like an option.

Try resetting your password and then trying to log in again. It's often the case that alternate login methods like Facebook or Google don't work on such devices, so we recommend against trying to use those. As a test, you can try logging in with a different account too in order to make sure that the login process works. You can use the account of someone you know or make a new one yourself. Also consider trying this on different networks. You can make a hotspot from your phone if necessary.

Let us know how it goes.

I am having the issue. I have a luoran music listening device and it will not log in. I have updated password and still no luck. The username and pw have been double and triple checked to ensure they are correct.

same issue, my device is on android ver. 9, and it wont log any account in, always says email and password are incorrect, im trying to set up a new account for my kids and if i set up the account on the device, the app crashes, so i set it up on my computer and now it wont let me log in, i know the login is correct it was created minutes ago

none of those things worked for me, no account can be logged in, and trying to even create a new account crashes the app

Hi @r27y3zqv6on8ff09klaz,

Thanks for the replies.

The original thread here was about a specific device, namely the Luoran MP3 player. Is that what you have too? If not, what device does the issue occur on? As long as you cover the minimum requirements mentioned earlier, which seems to be the case for you. Consider testing if logging in on the browser on the same device works, for example in the account page. This will help narrow down if the app is causing the issue or the connection cannot be properly established.

I have a Luoran M4B with Android 7.0 on it. Bought it for my daughter so she can listen Spotify on her account on my Premium membership. In trying to work around the same issue in not logging in succesfully, I was advised by spotify customer servive to delete the app and reinstall it. Now the app was preinstalled by Luoran and now I can't get the spotify app on the device anymore, let alone installing it properly. So I do need help on this. Please let me know how I can resolve this matter. Thanks in advance!

Hey folks,

In addition to your device meeting the minimum system requirements, we'd recommend always using the latest version of the app as it contains the newest features, security updates and bug fixes, thus ensuring optimal stability. Also, note that Spotify Kids is a standalone app, separate from the regular Spotify app, so double-check if you're using the appropriate one.

If you have access to Google Play or Amazon, you can get the app here:

In case you're unable to download & install the apps on your own, refer to the manufacturer for more info on how to do so on your device.

Hope this clears things up. The Community is just a post away should you need assistance with anything else.

Justus6, if you factory reset from the settings-system menu, it will re-install all the apps.

For the spotify moderators, not to be snarky, but please see above... this Luoran device comes pre-installed with the apps and there is no updating possible (so that recommendation is not helpful).

The Luoran device I have is Model M4S. It's running Android version 9 and the spotify app is version 8.7.42.943. When trying to log in with the spotify app, it specifically says, "This email and password combination is incorrect." But alas, they are correct. And I've triple checked them and changed the password several times... nothing works.

Of all the preloaded apps available on the device, only the Spotify one does not work... even the SpotifyKids app works fine. As a moderator instructed above, I did try to log into spotify on the chrome browser app on the device and that worked fine. So, it's only the spotify app and it appears to only be the login part that is having problems.

Thanks for the reply, @TacoMonster!

Hmm, the version of Spotify that comes pre-installed is now outdated, which could very well be why the error occurs. Since updating it manually is not possible, we'd recommend reaching out to the manufacturer for more info on how to get the latest of Spotify installed - that should do the trick.

Cheers 🤘

The manufacturer seems to defer to spotify for app functionality. Is it possible to have the technical/programmer teams ensure older app versions will still allow users to log in?

We're having the exact same issue as the folks here. Same device/software, and same problems with accessing Spotify. This seems like an app problem, not a device problem. C'mon, Spotify! Help us out!

I can sign in to the app on the M4S Luoran MP3 player but it crashes immediately, but only through the main opening page. If you hard press on the app and click on search then it works and doesn't crash. It's a weird way to try and get around it, at least it worked for me.

Connect it to WiFi. That is what I discovered the problem was on my end, when I reset the spotify password twice. I thought, "Wait - how could it possibly connect to my account without a network connection." That might be your issue.

My Question or Issue

I have had no issues with a prior Delphin 3.0 player (a waterproof Android-type tablet for swimming).  The player includes a Spotify app.  On my prior Delphin player, I was able to use the app and log in without issues.  That device broke.  I finally replaced it, and now I cannot log in.  I have been able to use the same credentials (email, acct ID) and password on multiple devices without issue.  This one device app is repeatedly saying PW and Login ID do not match, and sends a message to my email to reset PW.  I have reset the password three times, each time switching to access via the website on the laptop and the app on the phone.   Has anyone else had issues with this device or other audioplayers?

I am having this exact same issue on the Innioasis Q8 player I just bought

My MP3 player has the Spotify app, but when I log in, it says my log in email and password are wrong.  I use the same login for my laptop & iPhone and email & password work.  What is wrong? Please help.  Thankd

Hi all and Spotify Moderators,

Thanks for checkin on this. Just re-installed Spotify v 8.8.36.522 as advised by Luoran support, on a M4B with Android 7.0.

Also changed passsword etc.. I still get "This email and password combination is incorrect."

Looks like the denial is more on the app than on device no?

Thanks

Speculating that this is the same issue as using old iphones, which per spotify's documentation is not supported.

If you want to use Spotify on a device, you need to be able to update the app, which is not possible on the Luoran M4B. Although it is an android based OS, it is custom and does not have the play store to manage app updates.

Our best option is to enable developer tools by rooting the device and side load the latest Spotify app or the play store app. This is what I'm going to try to do, but I might have to throw this device away.
