Cant play music on HP slate 7

I can play music fine on my laptop and on my android phone.

When I press play on slate 7 it plays one secon then goes to pause. 

I can link my phone to the slate. The slate will play music on the phone, but the phone is not able to play music on the slate, doing the same thing - playing for  one second then pausing.

What can I do?
