Car view only works sometimes (Bluetooth, Android)

Most of the times car view does not work for me, sometimes it DOES automatically switch to car view when I connect the two. Can't figure out under what circumstances it works and when it does not.

I'm wondering how Spotify knows I'm connecting to a car. Something to do with detecting a certain speed? Possible solution would be to add a bluetooth connection (name) to a list and when you connect to a connection that is on the list turn on car view.
